My I-551 (valid May 2003-May 2004) was extended last Friday.
In Feb, it was cancelled by a new officer, she found some error (did not tell me).
In April, I went there again and another officer told me my fingerprint expired (1.5 yr), I did second one next day.
In May, I went there, the third officer told me, the first two visits were handled wrongly, she wrote a notice for my FBI namecheck. But when I got home, I found she wrote a wrong A# (not my A#) on the notice, therefore, I helped myself with my security check. 1) phone call to FBI for fingerprints result, (it was ok in the second week after I did my 2nd fingerprints) 2) send fax to FBI for namecheck result, after 1.5 months, I got email from FBI, the my case is clarified and result was notified and sent BCIS. (two phone and fax number are available from this forum) I visited BCIS office in Newark one week after the FBI's email notice, I got a referral from 3rd floor to 11th floor, where the interview was conducted a year ago, another officer stamped my passport again. He said he knew my case was pending due to FBI namecheck (I saved my question - why he did nothing on it).
I hope everything is fine this time, at least, I have another year with valid I-551 stamp, digital driverlicense was changed(new ID in NJ) last Monday.
God bless the officers, forgive their mistakes, they did nothing in last 6 months but prolonged the process on my case. I felt very sad every time when I waited in the extra-long cueue outside the BCIS Newark office ... ... I can understand how hard it is to have a case done in INS/BCIS. anyway, they are moving ...
