Expired Passport

My wife's passport is about to expire. We have been marrired 17 mos and her Japanese passport expires this July. Can she renew her Japanese passport using her married name? If yes, can she do it at the Japanese embassy here or does it have to be done in Japan? She can not get a US passport as she is not yet a citizen. She does have a green card.

This is a forum for people having US citizenship and deals with issues related to that (before USC, after USC). Unfortunately, Japanese passport renewal does not come under this umbrella. You might be lucky and someone in same situation may respond, but the odds are low.

Try Japanese embassy's website, or calling them.
