expired passport, still valid?

My birth certificate does not have my name on it and it is required for identification purposes (required: parents name, my name, DOB, place of birth etc). Can I submit my old passport copy? This passport has been expired, will it still work in lieu of birth certificate.

Depends on why this is needed ?? Is it to apply for a Green Card ?

Yes, as long as u have a copy of your current pp as well. I recently submitted evidence of my birth date for teh same reason (no name on my bc) and submitted my old expired pp and school records...hope that helps
