Expired H1b Renewal

Hi,
I applied for permanent residency (Green card) a while ago. Details are listed below.
Priority Date: Dec 13 2002
I140 Approval Date: April 28 2004
485 Receipt Date Oct 26 2004
485 Notice Date Nov 01 2004
I am working now with employment Authorization Document.
I got my first EAD on 05/26/2005
Using AC21 I switched the employer.
Second EAD 05/01/2006
Third EAD 03/17/2007.
Recently when heard that GC processing became current I went to home country and got married.
And I applied for I824 to request to add my wife in I485 processing.
Unfortunately got no approval on my 485 and I have no Idea when I will receive my 485 approval but I am sure it will take not less than 2 years.
I have a H1B which was valid till 09/21/2006. (Expired)
Now my question is, is it possible to renew/extend my H1B? Some say not possible to renew expired H1 and some say it can be renewed. I am not sure which one is correct. One employer promised me that they will sponsor for my H1B if it is possible.
If possible let me know under what provisions it is possible and what I need to do and how much it will cost.
Time is running out. Could you please reply back ASAP? I will appreciate your quick reply.
 
Reddy - I am in the exactly same situation and was considering renewing my h1b to allow my wife (in india) to apply for h4.

The best thing is to divorce for existing and search for new one here or wait untill you get your 485 approval with out thinking and or calculating the days for luck
