Expiration of Approved LC before I-140

Hello.
Hope someone could answer for me.
Is there an expiration of approved LC? Of course I do not believe it is good for forever, but if there is, how long is it? After the approval of LC, my company does not apply for I-140 for me for a long time, which is making me extremely sad. What is the max time that allows you to apply for I-140 after the LC approval. Thanks for your comment.
 
As of today LC is good for forever, in future that may change
