Dear Friend,
I have recieved an Interview letter and it says that I cannot take my son under age 14 year inside the INS, also they said interview can be video recorded, also bring Emp certificate etc. Is this is common?

Another question as my wife is dependent on me, does she also have to take her current employment letter and all the pay stubb or not.
Please suggest me.
I appreciate any help.

Thanks
Nick

Check with Lawyer

Although I think it is pretty common not to allow children under 14, to video tape, etc., I would check with a lawyer to confirm. I have seen other posts on this board describing how children are not allowed, etc. The video tape is a first, but I won\'t be surprised if this is true.

Regarding your second question about your wife, if you are the primary applicant, and your wife is just a beneficiary, I wouldn\'t worry about bringing along her pay stubs, employment letter, etc. However, do bring your pay stubs, employment letter, etc.

Hope this helps you.

Suggest that you check w/ lawyer

Dear Nick,

I have never heard of the interview request letter stating that they will video tape you. But please check w/ others on the board.

Regarding what to take, I think typically they ask for pay-stubs, employment letter, W-2 for last 2 years, marriage certificate. There may be other things. I would check w/ a lawyer. You may find some useful info on sites like http://www.immihelp.com and http://www.ins.usdoj.gov. The stuff they ask for may be listed there.
