This is for one of my Friend. Please advise

   Here is my problem:

   My friend applied for GC in February 1999 and got Labour and
   140 with in 6 months. And also I applied for I485 in
   October 1999 with Texas INS. I got my EAD in November
   1999 and Finger prints done on Feb 2nd , 2000.

   Last week when I called Texas INS they said they sent
   my papers to Memphis, TN INS office where I applied my
   greencard. When I spoke to my attorney he said that in
   Memphis its taking nowhere from 900 to 1000 days and
   he suggested me to start from beginning again. I don\'t
   know what to do.

Could you please advise me

Please try to help him if you can, other wise just ignore.

He should relocate himself where there is not much wait in local INS like Pittsburgh and get his files transferred to that INS. This whole transfer could take 2-3 months but it will be much faster this way.
