Hello,

I had worked for company X for 4 years and then I joined another company and worked there for 1 year. Now I am planning to join my old company X in a more senior position. Company X my old company is planning to sponsor my GC. Can I use the 4 years of my experience I worked for company X when it files for GC? I know it is not suggested to use the experience gained at sponsoring company but in my case I quit the sponsoring company for 1 year and now joining back in a different position, so is it different?

If it's a different position, yes you could use that experience in your PERM application.
