I am wondering if anybody has this experience. While you are traveling abroad on the ADVANCE PAROLE.

I am about to travel for the first time with my AP. I never travel abroad with RTD

I wanted to find out if any of you had experience.

I'm pending for GC.
Your comments are certaily appreciated.

Thanks..... :)

If you research this forum, there was a discussion regarding this. I did travel once with advance parole because my lawyer told me so (but I also had RTD). However, some people in this forum disagree that we should travel with one if you have RTD. We could have some consequences. Check what they will write on you I-94 when you come back. You will be accepted as parolee, and I have no idea what that means. I'm still here and waiting for my GC. My congressman checked my status, and so far everything is in line.

If you travel with AP..doesn't it mean you use your national passport..doesn't that jeapordize your status?...You can't renew your national passport..it asks you in the RTD application...Y use AP when you can get an RTD?

If your asylum has been approved and you have applied for I485 you only need an RTD not an advance parole. I have traveled with RTD several times and once with Advance parole and RTD combined not knowing I did not need an Advance parole.

In spite of to have applied first for an AP, even I can apply for a RTD after using my AP? (I never applied for and RTD)

Being expecting for my GC with I-485 approved, even I can apply for a RTD after using for the first time my AP?

Well RTD is for people who can't get a national passport because theoretically if you are claiming asylum, you mean to say Hey I give up my country and renounce my citizenship.

Advance Parole is usually for people whoose GC is in process..mostly H1 applicants or applicants married to US Citzens etc. You can have an AP and a RTD at the same time I believe.

Ap allows you to travel with your national passport while RTD allows you to use that as your passport..simple as that.

you can apply for RTD after AP. I did that with no problem. And so far, I didn't see anywhere on any documentation that you renounce our citizenship. It might be implied, but nothing directly.
