Experience Letters

My employer is starting my Green Card Processing. I had B.S + > 5 yrs of Exp when I joined my employer and I have the appointment/experience letters from my previous employer.
The attorney says that the experience letters that I have is not sufficient and he needs it in a special format. Is this true ? My previous employers are in India, How can I get that signed ?

Does anyone has similar situation like me ? Attorney says that if I can't provide the experience letters in his format then he has to modify the mimimum requirement for the job and that will put me in EB-3 category.

What should I do? Any suggestions ...

hi coolest_me,

yes, the experience letters follow certain format. We were provided with a template :), we ended up pasting the sentences from the job order in the letter. The letters need to say exactly, and I mean exactly what your ad is saying. Also, they need to say that your experience is "progressive" for you to qualify for EB2. I have a friend accountant (in another state) and she got almost the same template from her lawyer.

Our previous employers are in Europe, so what we did was find them, talk with them on the phone, fax the letters to them and have them fax the signed letters back. You don't need originals, fax is fine. Took us about two months to deal with this. The lawyers refused to start advertizing meanwhile, they wanted to make sure that there is a letter for every single requirement in the ad.

EB2 is worth it, will save you about 2 years of wait.
