Experience gained in Part time position

I have claimed experience gained in a part time position as a student assistant in my EB-3 Labor Certification Application.

My prof has agreed to give Experience Letter on University Letterhead detailing my job duties. Will experience gained as a Student Assistant be valid for I-140 purposes?

How will part time experience be calculated?

If the experience was gained at a part time position, how will the number of years be calculated? Because number of years of experience at a part time position is obviously not the same as the number of years in a full time position.
 
I don't think it will count....but I may be wrong. Even if it counts...it'll count for half of it's total value..coz as a student u work only half the hours(20) instead of the 40 a full timer is supposed to put it.

DOL likes to compute experience on 40hr/week basis. So, as an example, if your combined part time employment was 200 hrs, you can claim them as 200/40=5 weeks. I think to make your case as clear as possible your experience letter has to state clearly that you worked part time and your days/hrs of work. This way DOL will have no confusion.

My lawyer said that it would count unless your role / responsibilities are similar to what you have as of LC filing time. Moreover she is not sure of part time school experience even though job roles / resp matches. Pitch ... a big pain from my end as well.
