Expedited I-765

Hello I have a question, my husband and I just sent in our applications on Aug 21st. He is going for an interview at the end of September. I see that the wait for EAD is about 4.5 months. Is there any way to get an expedited I-765 if we need to. What should we do?

60-90 days is the wait.

You can make an infopass appointment with your local USCIS office, show evidence of why it is so urgent for him to request to NBC (national benefits center) an expedited processing of his EAD.

What is the reason for it to be expedited? you are supposed to sponsor him and just getting a job (if he had none or has one already through a work visa) is not a reason that deserves an expedite request.

Thank you for responding. We are also apart during this time. We have a home where I am currently working. He does have a visa and is working in an underserved area about 4 and 1/2 from me. We are hoping he will get his EAD so he can relocate and we can live together instead of apart.

Well, you can certainly explain that to the IO at the infopass, and they may request NBC to expedite it... but it is up to the NBC to do so or not.

Bring evidence.
