hi,

with all due respect i would require your views on this querry of mine.

me and my wife are planning for child, a thought struck in our mind what if when she concieves then after 4-5 months she travels to usa and deliveres the baby there only. we have friends staying in usa, who can send us the letter saying that they are sponsoring us,, and all that.

would like to get your advice on this topic, how feasible or lets is it possible at all.

how to proceed about that.

your suggestions will be appreciated, on this trivial matter.

thanks

Hi- unfortunately friends are unable to sponsor someone to live and work in the USA- family can but this can take many many years depending upon your relationship (parent, sibling or spouse).
There are 9 ways in which you can live and work in the USA and these are documented on this website http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Pulaski's_Ways:_How_to_Live_and_Work_in_the_USA

If your wife does have your child in the USA you have to be aware that this will be incredibly expensive- this will not be covered through a travel insurance as it was 'pre diagnosed' before flight departure. Any child born on US soil (with the exception of foreign diplomats) will indeed become a US citizens- however this does not give the parents of the child any legal standing in the US and you 'will' have to return home once your visitors visa expires.
