Hello everyone,

This is my first post so please bear with me. I desperately need advice so please help. Here goes....

I moved to Karachi, Pakistan about 3 years ago, since then I got married to a local girl and had a baby boy a year ago. I applied for I 130 on Febuary 28th of 2003 on a visit to the US and then had my brother apply for the I 129F on september 16th on my behalf.

Now that I have anxiously been waiting for any correspondence from BCIS, am wondering if I submitted the wrong forms since I havent been living in the United States.

I called the US Consulate in Islamabad and spoke with a representative and presented my situation but the answers I got from her were less than satisfactory. She simply suggested that " I bite the bullet and move back to the United States and wait for the process to take its course". Wow!!! move back?? without my wife and kid?? that seems a little strange to me.

I got a feeling that they might not be fully versed in US immigration law so I am asking anyone here who might be in the same situation as I or might know what course of action I would have to take?

From a close relatives experience... my sister got married in 1997 in Karachi then went to Islamabad and applied for the I 130 in January and was in the United States in early March. Was that the Pre 9/11 scenerio?

Please help.

Shaz
