Evidence of Not Abandoning Residency

Hi all

I've applied for citizenship under the 4 years plus 1 day rule. I have an interview for naturalization in a few weeks, I had received a yellow notice requesting to bring all my passports as well as my state ID but nothing more. In the standard documents checklist they also ask for evidence that I have not abandoned my LPR status if I took more than 6 months trip.

I have only one 11-month trip, It was my first trip since becoming LPR, I had to go back to finish my undergraduate degree. After receiving my BS degree I immediately returned to the US and never left since then (except for two 10-day vacations to London). Given that I'm applying under 4 years plus 1 day rule, do I have to prove that I had no intention of abandoning my residency in my first trip? I had not asked for reentry permit when I took it. Also, does the fact that the USCIS officer did not ask for that evidence in the yellow notice mean that I won't be asked to show proof during the interview?

Thanks

It looks like they no longer ask for proof of ties to the US for the long trip that ended more than 4 years and 1 day ago. But if you had to provide that evidence, in your case it would be proof that you were studying overseas, and that your US-based parents were financially supporting you during that time.

Thank you very much for the reply, Jackolantern!

I guess I could print out my undergraduate enrollment transcripts which should show my enrollment dates, I hope that will convince them if they ask

Thanks again!
