everyone pl read..pl help, major problem shoplifting

I have a major problem
Few days back I was caught shop lifting. The security person called the police, but they didnt do anyhting, they just wrote the report and went away saying that these days they are not doing anything. They didnt give me any document, didnt charge me or anything. The store people asked me to do some paperwork which i did, one said that i had taken something unlawfully from store and mentioned the items. this was just store paper work .

so do I have to yes on the forms which ask have you ever been charged, convicted, cited.etc or commited a crime for which you were not arrested ?

Am I guilty, there has not been any court case to establish that?
Do I have to say i commited a crime, the police didnt take any statement from me or anyhting.
this happened in maryland, i have been trying to find what is the max sentence for petty theft in maryland but was unsucessful, if you know pl let me know . the amount was $56.

your reply will greatly relieve me.

Nothing to worry about.

First of all what is the (police) report they wrote.

Is that a citation??

What are the charges....

i really dont know what the report said, they didnt give me any citation, I dont think they charged me, just a report was made.

Police didnt ask me anything or give me any paper work. They were saying we are not doing anything these days for this etc.. to the security people. They didnt give me any thing, I dont think I was charged, just a report was made.

But i did sign the paper with the store that i took somthing unlawfully and i will pay the amount $56 and never tresspass.....

Police dint give me any paper work no citation nothing I think they just wrote an incident report.

if they havent charged me now is it possible that i might get charged for this sometime in future............pl help.

I don't think u have any problem. They would have arrested you if there was anything severe. There are people in this forum with more severe problems like getting arrested and convicted also. As the time goes by u will recover.

Relax....People don't die for incidents like this. There will be more Severe proplems in life, where you will have to overcome.

Forget it and get on with the life.

I have another question. on the question were you ever chargde , cited ..etc or Commited a crime for which you were not arrested ? what do i say here, what about did you ever commit a crime for which you were not arrested, what do i say to that, there was apolice report and i did sign papaer with the store saying that i took things unlawfully.

If you could help on this that would be very very helpful......

I will say that an immigration lawer is the best one to answer your question. In this forum itself you could Jim, Jaxen and others who are experts.

Like Jagan said, there are people who have done severe crimes that would make them ineligible to apply for immigration. But they all go scotfree. So don't worry.

I have seen people with totally falsified records going unnoticed. So relax. You will be alright.
