Ever heard of someone getting denied for permanent resident initially, then approved?

After they looked at new evidence mailed to them?

WITHOUT formally reopening the petition?

I mailed a letter to the interview officer that we had last week, pointing out that she told my wife and I that she would give us 2 days to get a sponsor, which we did - but she made a decision and denied us before she waited to get that.

I'm hoping that she'll read my letter, acknowledge that she agreed to this, and change our petition to approved, WITHOUT me having to formally reopen the petition.

Will she bother reading my letter?

Does she have the power to change the decision?

How likely is it that she would change the decision if she remembers us and remembers that she said that she would give us until Friday morning - but didn't wait for that to make a decision?

Have you ever heard of that happening?

We have a copy of the packet delivered to her, stamped on Friday morning.

I read your other thread about your experience and I've been meaning to post to tell you how much I think it sucks what happened to you and your girl. I'm really sorry and hope you can get it approved without having to refile. I certainly am not in the position to provide you with an answer.. but I feel for you and I can only try and imagine how pissed off you are.

I read about your situation

I read about your situation on your other post and I just want to sympathize with you. I hope you and your wife will get through this. I am also not in the position to really give you advice because my husband and I haven't even started the process of petition yet, other than filling out the forms. But if I were in your situation, I honestly would get soo pissed that I would not leave them alone until my case is solved. Based on experience, here in the US, unless you do something about your situation, nobody else will do it for you. If you just let it go, nobody will pick it up and fix it for you, you gotta do what you have to do and be relentless and then your case will be entertained. If you don't do anything about this, then you will have to start all over again.

Good luck and best wishes with whatever you decide! :)
