Evaluate NIW : Please : Come on Guys

Hi,
will appreciate ur input concerning my credentials:


Degrees
MD 2003
PhD in Arrhythmias from a university in NY will finish it in 2 month, then start my postdoc

Publication
7 abstract/conference presentations including 2 in the AHA (American Heart Association)
3 papers: 1 2nd author, 1 3rd author, 1 5th author.
Citation 1 only. My work is narrow, only very few people work on. so citations are very low. Big drawback
Will have 2-3 1st author papers in next 2 month. and the 4th will be submitted.

Awards: Excellent/honor from my medical school
Presidents Volunteer award from the white house, washington DC for volunteering over 4500 hours.

Membership: American Heart Association, American Stroke Associated, Biophysical Society and Sigma Xi

Co-chair on a committee that reviews research protocols in 2 campuses.

Can get good recommendation letters from top people here and abroad.

Please tell me what do u think? should i go for it in 2 month, after i get my phd and get my 2-3 1st author papers out?

I would wait until you build up a good citation record, to be honest. Only 1 citation will kill your application right now.

The problem is becasue of the narrow field, i doubt that the citation will increase much in the next year or so.

so what are my options then? submit the application now or wait till next year?
