Error on GC: I-90 Filed today

Folks,

My GC had an error. Today, I went along to Newark to get it fixed. They had my country of citizenship as my country of birth.

It was a ridiculously SLOW process !! Got in @ 8 am (infopass) and was out @ 3 p.m.

No fees since it was their mistake. I got a 2nd stamp with the first one "CWP", i.e. cancelled without prejudice. The 2nd stamp is valid for a year from today. It also states "I-90 filed 01/25/05"

What a pain, especially given that it was their mistake. They kept the old GC with the error.

I hope I receive the new GC soon and NOT after 1 yr !!!

By your id it seems you are from India. And don't you think it is correct, unless you are a citizen of India and became of a citizen of another country and then applied for a US Green Card too...??

AllIaskedfor1GC,

Yes, I'm indeed an Indian by origin but have never been a citizen of India and neither was I born there. I was born in Africa and a EU Citizen. On my GC, they've mixed up the two.
