Error in TX EB1 recipte

Yesterday my university received the receipt for my selp petioned EB1EA, under the petitoner section it stated my university. So I called the USCIS and told them since it is a self petition I should have received the recipte at my home address. They dident quite get it and insisted that one cannot self petition. Well I walked them (including the supervisor) through the I-140 form and said that in Part 5 it asked about the type of petition, self /employer/other. After about 40 minuits they understood that it need not be sent to the univ address but stated that even if I self petition it has to be through the univ. The supervisor even said "...you cannol just come to this country and say you want to be an immigrant...the employer has to say that..." true but not is this case. Then I mentioned about my EB2NIW approval and since that too was a self petition the univ was not involved there. Finally they made a correction to the I-140 form in part 1 and removed the unviersities address (I hope). I really do not know what is going to happen. After yesterdays call no LUD was seen yet. Since it is a self petition techenically the univ is not involved at all. What suprised me was the lack of knowledge the people at USCIS have about simple things like this.

Anyone with similar experiences ?

Did you e-file your I-140? In PART-1 you most probably wrote your organization information as your Univ. address. You are NOT supposed put anything in there if it is self petition. Those should be blank.

I second that. How would USCIS even know that you self-filed if you fill out Part 1 with your University information? They go by form first. It is paramount to make sure they have indeed changed that part (so that your I-140 and I-485 wouldn't later be tied to the same employer). If there are still doubts, I'd even consider re-filing or at least seeking professional advice.

Just an update I called USCIS again and this time I mentioned about the error on the form. He varified who I was and assigned a correction request and provided me with the request number. I was able to get some one in like 2 min. A little relief. He said I should be hearing something from them in 45 days. Better than nothing.

SumeetBabu,
I was going to say when I saw your first message: it was very weird that the one who answered your first call didn't know self-petition, and I suspect that he shouldn't be the officer (he probably just a person answers the phone calls. So I would suggest you call another time, hoping to get a better experienced one. And you did, you got a much better one. Hope things go well afterwards.
Keep us posted.

SO we LEAVE part 1 ENTIRELY BLANK? The form says if individual is filing use TOP line.... shouldnt we put our name there? Please answer this....

Here is what I shall do: for part 1,
put down my family name and given name leave full middle name blank (if put down N/A they may take N/A as my middle name)
leave company or organization name blank
put down my home address, my social # and email address, while put N/A for IRS Tax #.
Still, nobody answered my question: how do we answer "Are you authorized to centralising filing or sole jurisdiction..."? yes or no?

EB1-EA-SELF File

I am planning to file EB1-SELF, COULD any one help to guide whether I need to fill part 6, SOC codes

I will put down the SOC codes for my occupation: mathematics.
You will find the list of the codes for all occupations when you efile and go to part 6, it will pop up a list for you.
I am currently employed. As long as we don't put down our company/school's name/address on part 1, our I140 information should not go to the company/school, and we shall be fine. Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks, Do we need to put salary in Part 6.. Since It is a self petition, i am not sure "what to put for the proposed employment"

It is confusing, but I put down my salary in part 6. I put down my current position for the proposed employment. I guess since we are self-petition, those information won't matter much. But I heard it's good to have a permanent job even though we do self-petition.
pana posted a link, very helpful for efiling:

Yes, I do think so, I did see some from my friends. some lawers have filled those, some left as N/A.. I think these should not matter for the self-petition

CAN we efile in TX , even thought i come under NSC Judistriction.. Does it create any complications?

you can't select any center but e-filling case will en route you to TSC.
I also fall under NSC but ended up at TSC. good luck.

Thanks for your reply, In the efile "Are you authorized for Centralized Filing or Sole Jurisdiction", Can we put Yes and choose TSC, or we are not eligibile to choose or whatever we choose, it automatically decides. COuld you please explain,
