Error in EAD card Received

Hi All,

I have applied for EAD renewal recently, online. My EAD got approved within 12 days. But the EAD card that I have received is showing the wrong Validity Date. What should I do about the same.

How I can get this error made by USCIS corrected. Gurus please help/suggest ?

Wbat exactly is wrong with the validity date? I've read that EAD validity dates tend to be EITHER of the following, depending on the service center:

(a) Day after expiry of previous EAD

(b) Date of issue.

If the validity date on your card is either of those, I doubty there's any error to be corrected.
 
The Validity date in the received EAD card is same as my previous EAD card 02/15/2005 to 02/14/2006. I called USCIS and told them that i have applied for the renewal, that means date should be 02/15/2006 to 02/14/2007 as I already have a EAD card for these dates. The agent at USCIS told me I have to prove that the date shown are incorrect. How i can do the same ?

when did you apply for the renewal and when did it get approved. They give the dates around "day of approval" to 1 year. i.e. if your ead renewal was applied on May 20, 2005 and it got approved on July 1, 2005 then your ead card would have dates around July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006.

Note that like H1B, they dont give the renewal starting date as the date when the previous EAD expires.. This EAD renewal is a huge rip-off where you end up bleeding money. For safety reasons (people apply 90-100 days before current EAD expires), these days EAd is getting approved in like 1.5 months, which means remaining 1.5-2 months just go waste. Big time money-ripoff..
 
I have applied on 11/11/2005, and they have sent me the EAD card with the Validity date of 02/15/2005 to 02/14/2006 ( it has the same validity date as my old card, if it was from 11/11/2005 or 11/23/2005(date of approval) I dont have any problem), . I called the agent at USCIS, she told me I need to write a letter along with new EAD application to prove the same.They might wave the fees that I have paid .

Anyone has any experience/suggestions, what should be the content of the letter etc. What document I should attach ?
