3 JULY 3001 – I-485 APPROVALS IN JUNE
June was the best month in our history for I-485 approvals. Of the 60 employees who are now permanent residents 42 are from Emplifi, 9 from eJiva, four each from Mascot and Mas Apps and one from Symphoni. If you are one of these five dozen, remember to take your approval notice and passport to your local INS office for stamping. You should send your HR representative a photocopy of the stamp so that your Form I-9 can be updated with your new status.
We understand that some of you want processing detail information. Of the 60 approvals 28 received no RFE’s, two received two and two received three (a major test of patience). The balance received a single RFE.
Amended I-140 petitions had been filed in every case. The petition had been approved in all but three of the cases.
The distribution of I-485 filing dates covered a period of ten months. During 1999 two applications were filed in May, 35 in August, 12 in September, 4 in October, 3 in November and one in December. During 2000 there were three cases: one each in January, February and March.
In the first six months of this calendar year 258 iGate Capital employees received permanent residence approval. Those still patiently waiting, some for more than four years from labor certification filing, should not become discouraged by the long delay, multiple RFE’s, confusing INS status reports and erratic processing. Your approval is coming.
