Entry to Canada w/ Green Card

Hi,

I understand that green card holders do not need a visa to visit Canada. Since I recently got my green card, I just have the passport stamp right now. The plastic card has yet to arrive. Does anyone have experience visiting Canada with just a passport stamp and not the card itself? I thought the stamp would be something high tech. like a US visa. But it looks like something only an amateur would cook up!

thanks,
sadiq

The stamp has the same value as the actual card for all travel including Canada. The stamp looks simple but is made of a special flouroscent ink that glows under UV light. Immigration officers have access to UV light for verification.

thanks. that explains a lot. just by looking at the stamp i couldn't believe that anyone would think it was genuine!
