One of the rules for applying for a visitor visa for USA states that the applicant must have:
"A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States."

When a person already has a visitor visa stamped in his/her passport what should be the minimum validity of the passport to enter the USA? My father's passport expires on 30th April 2006 - if he comes to the USA in Sept 2005 will he get a six month entry stamp or only till Oct 30th (Oct 30th in case the rule above also applies to persons entering the USA).
He has previously visited the USA and stayed for 3-4 months per visit.
