Entering France on RTD

I Recently travelled to Germany but had to go through France as it was my Transit...Since Germany and france are Schegen countries, you have to go through passport control at French Port of Entry rather than German..

Anyways, the french embassy told me they dont issue a visa on RTDs and need PR cards...I tried my luck anyway and i was going to germany anyways with no interest in entering france..

As i tried to get to my paris-frankfurt flight, I had to go through immigration...The officer looked at my passport for few seconds and asked his colleague, he asked me few questions and them let me go....and said Welcome to france....no questions about visa or that they dont issue visa on the RTD or etc.....

I was about to get to france on my BLUE RTD without any Visa or any problems at all...just an FYI for all....however i had my german flight booked already...

Thanks for the posting. I did not know that we have to go through immigration even if it is only a transit.

What i have noticed while travelling in europe is that here they dont ask much for visas etc once you are inside europe..For instance, for Italy you need a visa from U.S but from germany to italy no one asks anything..and even leaving italy, they dont ask where is ur visa....even for switzerland you donät need a visa once you enter germany..even though switzerland is not part of schegen i think..
