Entered TIN for SSN in passport application

Hello friends,
I used the online application for my minor child to apply for the passport. The online form, SSN is a required field and when I clicked the help for that particular field, it took me to a page, where it stated about ITIN number.
I entered the ITIN number and send the application.

I checked the printed form today and found that, if I donot have a SSN # then i have to enter zeros.

Is there any option for me to get it corrected or just wait.

If your minor child naturalized, should you not get an SSN for him too? I presume he is naturalized because you are getting his passport.

Anyway, since the application has been sent, it will be hard to intercept it and correct this. You can call the passport helpline but I do not think they will let you change this, the only thing they can do is to expedite the return of documents to you. Or you can just wait as you said.
