Enter US with AP if I-485 is approved

My I-485 is pending due to FBI name check is not completed yet. I am planning to travel with my AP. If during my absence, my I-485 is approved, can I still use AP to enter US. If not, what can I do in that case.

AP is precisely for such a case.
No problems -- you'll be given "Deferred Inspection" at the POE - basically you'll have to head to the nearest INS office for your I551 processing.

Screw up comes if you don't have a valid AP (only a non-immigrant visa ) on return and your 485 gets approved -- then you are in real trouble -- you are more than OK - enjoy ur trip :)
