Hello,
We applied for my mother's I-130 about a year back. Few days ago I got an enquiry from INS (CIS) asking for a proof that my 70 years old mother Mohani and Mohini are the same person.
Her real first name is Mohani but few affidavits (for birth certificate etc.) made by her relatives in India spelled it as Mohini.
What are the acceptable documents to prove that both names are for the same person.
Is it sufficient to give a new affidavit indicating that Mohani and Mohini are two spellings used by the same person.
Due to her age, we do not have any original legal documents.
We called INS (CIS) office and their customer service rep and even supervisor are clueless on what their office is looking for.
Let me know what legal formalities are necessary to complete to satisfy this enquiry from Immigraion office.
Thanks for all your time and help.
Regards
Rajesh
