Employment verification # for JOint sponsor

hello guys,
i have been waiting for my joint sponsor's I 864..here is the situation, he just changed his job..now he has nt received his pay stub yet...coz he said the first pay would be delayed , and the employer said thats the way it works (consultancy).. but the empoloyer can provide him his employer verifcation number,,,but i dont think INs will accept that. they want either copy of paystub or employment letter. do you guys think employement verificaiton # will be a enough proof of current empoyement?? thanks

Your joint sponsor could submit previous paystubs, previous year tax returns, W-2 and a letter from the current employer stating the nature of work, salary earned on a company letterhead. ev# is not of much use here. He should also include a cover letter to explain his situation.
