Employment letter for NIW/I-485?

If I file I-485 under EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) category, do I still need to include employment letter?

In my application, I also attached my current employment letter, I think it is a Quali. showing that I am in work in the field and with that I apply for the NIW.

i would say yes!

I just asked my friend (Chinese Post doc) who applied for self petition NIW.
He said he didnot give Employment verification letter for I-485 but got RFE about it. For I-140 petition he had letter from boss which was essentially his EVL.
