employment change

Hi
I received my green card a month ago.I just a received a permanent offer a few days back which pays a significantly higher salary.my project is going to end in a month and my company is laying off people who come to bench.They do not seem to have a problem with my leaving the company once the project is over.so would it be okay for me to switch company's at this stage or should I wait for my company to lay me off.any suggestion would be appreciated.

I don't think there is anything wrong with people who just got their Green Cards putting their resume on the web. Most are doing that in order to invoke AC21 in the case that they get laid off in the final weeks of their I-485 wait. It's just an insurance policy.
