Employment-based GC, I-485 and marriage, urgent question?

I have a friend who has applied for employment-based I-485. He was fingerprinted 2 months ago. His lawyer at work has told him that it is too late to add his fiancee onto his application. I think the lawyer\'s answer is bogus and possibly negligent given the sheer hassle that the immigration process entails if the couple get married after the green card is approved. My understanding is that as long as the couple were married prior to his I-485 approval, the wife can apply for AOS even after the husband has received his I-485 approval.
Can anyone clarify this? Has anyone got good links on marriage and employment-based I-485 that I can send them? i would be most grateful.

D. Rosin.

Get Married Pronto

The lawyer is incorrect. Get married ASAP, get her into the country, and file the I-485 as soon as possible. If it is received before his I-485 is approved, she will be OK.

What happens if..?

What happens if she marries before the I-485 is approved but doesn\'t file her I-485 until after her husband\'s approval? He got fingerprinted 2 months ago, so she should have time...but VSC is getting pretty fast these days...

Lawyer incorrect

Consult another attorney. I believe, if your friend files after he
receives the GC, they need to wait for 4 to 5 years before they can get one for his suppose. In this case, their process changes from AOS into GC holder wants to bring his/her suppose.

Good luck to your friend,
Hadi
