Hi All,

Could some one please advice me on the following.

I continued to work for my H1 employer for 6 more months after getting my GC in June 2004. After that, I started my S corp and working as self employed. Now I have completed 4 yrs 9 months (actually by end of March2009). For N-400 for Q# Part 6 B, we have to list employers for last 5 years which requires me to list my H1 employer also for the first 6 months. Now my questions are as follows:

My H1 employer has moved office location last year.
1) Is it okay if I provide the current address of my (h1) employer though I worked for the employer when the office location was different.

2) Does USCIS really or possibly verify this address at all

3) Do I need to state my original start date of employment with that employer OR the date which gives me just enough days that adds up to my 5 years will do?

Answers:

1) Provide the current address and contact information for your previous employer. You can put a parenthetical note on the N-400 saying "office re-located in <year>" and leave it at that.

2) This is irrelevant - be truthful, if they ever found out you lied or obfuscated about something on your form, that is grounds for denying you citizenship.

3) The original start of employment would seem to be the correct information to enter on the form.

You are OK

Appavi,
The information they are asking is for last five years of employment history.
Just enter a date as much exact as you can remember as start date. Enter the end date of employment. ( I think you can enter it atleast with a correct month and year).

Just see your old tax returns and see the address you mentioned in it.
Put the same address. Putting the latest address also fine.
There is no exact opinion on this matter but you can mention the ambiguity during the interview. So be happy:)
