Employment Authorization Renewal & local transfers

My I-485 application was transferred to the Chicago office from Nebraska in February 2002 and I have confirmed that my file is in the Chicago office. The current employment authorization I have will expire in October. Where should I apply to renew it? Nebraska or Chicago office? and how long in advance should I send my application.

Any help is appreciated.

You need to send Your EAD & Advance Parole renewals to Chicago Office only because your I-485 is in Chicago only.
For the EAD it is better to apply before 90 days of expiration.

For EAD renewals I would recommend you apply 6 months before the expiration date. I have a petition that's been pending since Dec 4 2002 (no RFE issued; IIO said case was assigned to an officer only in May), and I am working only thanks to an interim EAD. Field offices issue EADs (depends on the office I guess) if your I765 petition has not been adjudicated within 90 days. Consult your own lawyer of course.
