Employer's financial statements and/or tax returns for CP interview?

I have found the interview experiences of various fellow CPers on this forum useful, and based on their experience and the following discussion, I have been preparing the list of documents I need to carry to Chennai consulate for my appointment in October.

In NO list of CP interview documents on this forum, did I find employer's (company's) financial statements and/or tax returns. However, my attorney insists that I need to carry them. I have more faith in the information I found on this forum, than what my attorney is saying, as I think my attorney may not be informed about the specific requirements of Chennai.

Can fellow CPers here confirm or deny the requirement of company's financial statements and/or tax returns for the CP interview at Chennai.

Thanks!

Better be safe than sorry...

First of all, I had my CP in Tokyo, Japan, so things might not be the same.

Anyway, my lawyer did tell me to take the company's financial report (I took the published Annual report) with me. I also took last 3 years worth of my tax return, bank statement for 3 months, and several pay stubs in addition to the documents listed on the packet 4. (Actually I took many more documents that I can think of, but I'm not going to even bother listing all of them.)

At the consulate, the officer told me to hand in all the documents that were listed on the packet 4. (They only wanted the last years tax return. ) No additional documents were requested. No pay stubs or bank statements.

However, my interview went very smoothly and only few questions were asked. But if the officer find something suspicious, those additional documents might help to back up your case.

In my opinion, it's better to have everything you can think of at the time of interview than regret not having it later.

Good luck!

Thanks for the inputs. I think, it makes perfect sense to carry all documents that I or my attorney think are even remotely relavent to the CP interview.
