Ofcourse dude, in 485 stage, you are the applicant. For 140 stage only employer or attorney can call INS. But for 485 stage only you "The Applicant" can speak to IIO about the application. They normally do not give info about your spouse to you.

Souji, until the I485 stage the processing is on behalf of Employer for LC based cases.

But I-485 is applied by the applicant based on the approved I140.

There\'s no effect. However, INS keeps track of how many times you called hence use your best judgement in calling. Besides, calling everytime without any real issue wouldn\'t make any sense anyway.

As far as I know, INS records every call in which you spoke to an IIO. They do not record the conversation, I think they notedown when you called and what was the question about. But calling them once a month is normal in my opinion. There are some people who call every week, which I think is too much. But you can call automated voice system everyday off-peak hours.

I agree with KH2 they do note our call because I called twice in two weeks and the IIO told me that lastime when I called on so and so date I was aksked to wait for four weeks ... and WHY AM I CALLING THEM AGAIN FOR SAME CONCERN...so I stopped calling.
