Emergency Travel

Hi

If US department of state does not send the passport back in time and travel is very very urgent what needs to be done?

Can somebody please tell me the procedure.

Fax a reuest to cancel. But still I guess it takes more then a week to get it

But in case I dont receive the passport even after a week after withdrawing my application and my travel is very very urgent then what is the other option.
