Emergency AP in Atlanta. Please help!

Has anyone been able to get an Emergency AP from local Office in Atlanta? There is a medical emergency back home and I have to rush .
Is it required to have transit visa to travel to India via London now?
My AP RD is Sept. 9th 2003.

Is there any particular format for the doctors letter?

I tried AP some time back in Atlanta, they did not even consider my application because my I485 addess was hoston. Then I have to travel to hoston to get the emergency AP. Remember the emergency AP is given to the immediate family member only. You can take doctors letter and try in atlanta. I wish you all the best.

I read in other forum, they had very bad experience when they requested for emergency AP at Atlanta. You may try, you may get it if you are lucky. I saw some postings that some people got emergency APs at Baltimore, NJ and some other offices. Good Luck.
