dear wantmygcnow :

i have q wuestion to ask you,

as you know i got my GC recently, i have my RTD valid for next may,
iam planning to mail it back to INS and apply for new one,

i planning to apply fot RE ENTRY TRAVEL DOCUMENT because its valid for 2 years,

if i got RE ENTRY document and use it only for short trips,wil this hurt my naturalization application when i apply for citizenship,

i like to get RE ENTRY DOCUMENT but at the same time i dont
want the ins think iam leaving the country for 2 years,beacuse

2 years RE ENTRY DOCUMENT GIVES THIS IMPRESSION,

when i come back to america will the ins in the airport interrogate me?

JS, If your trip is less than 6 months, you are ok. Make sure you keep the proof of your travels..how long etc in case you need it in the future.

If the officer asks you why you got a Rentry permit, tell them you can't obtain a national passport and this document is valid for 2 years than 1. You should understand that as a PR, you have more rights as before. They should not give you any problems.
