Eligible for US Citizenship?

I received my Employment based green card 3 years ago. Due to personal reasons, I intend to spend the next couple of years in my home country, and expect to work over there (at local branch of my US employer).

Can I apply for US citizenship in 2 years (i.e. 5 years from my GC approval date)? I have already satisfied the 30 months physical presence requirement, and I can make short trips to the US during the next couple of years, so that each of my absences out of the country are less than 6 months long.

Would the fact that I don't have a permanent US address create a problem on my citizenship application? How about the fact that I don't work for a US employer?

Once I submit the citizenship application, do I need to physically stay in the US until my interview date?

Thanks.

Absolutely , if the interviewer is paying a bit of attention to you! Well, for the 2nd part, you have to prove that you permanantly reside in the US. While all CR/PP requirements apply after you submit N400, you may be in trouble
if you try to dodge staying here. My advice:

Stay here 2 more years, get your CZ, and then do whatever you want.
