I have a question for all the educated readers of this forum. I got my GC through my wife on 3/27/2003. As I understand that one can apply for Citizenship at 3yrs after you get your GC. Time is fine. However I was away from the US for a period of 10 months in 2003-2004 but I have had constant residence in the US for over 20 months now. During the remainder of the time all my visits outside the US have been less than 1 1/2 months.
So do you think I am eligible to apply. Also, is it better to go with a lawyer or fill out the forms yourself and send it to the USCIS.
