EFFECTS ON THE GC- PROCESSING - INS Issues with recent student visas

Friends,
US Govt officials are debating on closing INS...bla..bla..after they approved visas recently for 9-11 attackers. Will this have any effect on the ongoing processing of applications. I know we are already waiting unknown periods...what do you guys think. Will this quicken the GC process and slow down it further. I am kinda concerned as I am hoping to get approved in the next 2-3 months.
 
Pressure on INS officer.

Well , there is a lot of pressure on INS Chief officer to take
some kind of action to improve efficiency. Only time can tell
what steps he is planning and what impact those steps have on
processing times. But we are going to defenitely see some
changes within INS or else the chief could be fired if he
is too slow in taking action.. He should prove he is being
much more strict and efficient!!
 
If they Stop Futher processing of new cases

Till the time they have their Ducks in the Row !! That would be Great for Us.. cos then they would focus on clearing the Backlog !! It may not be so Great for guys who are filing for green card or student visa or change of status.
