Question:
what is the effect of running payroll from different states on GC process?

Description: i am a contractor moving from state to state based on projects. My empoyers' office is in state of Alabama (State - A). my payroll is run from Alabama during 2000 and 2001.

My employer opened another branch office (with same federal id) in Florida in 2002. My payroll was run from Florida (State - B) for 2002 and 2003. Now my empoyer is planning to run my payroll back from Alabama (State - A).

As per my employer, my payroll can not be run from the same state more than two year.

FACT: all along my permanent address with INS has been Florida.

i greatly appreciate your experiences and thoughts:
1. Does this affect my GC processing. I am a bit worried.
2. Does INS and IRS has any info exchange about GC processing and tax returns filing status?

thanks and regards
