Effect of requesting rescheduling of Fingerprinting appointment

I received Fingerprinting appointment notices today (self and wife). It is on the 10th of March.

Unfortunately on that date I have a conflict with another unrelated activity which cannot be postponed at all (a close friend will have a major surgery on that day and I promised to help out). I could try and work around the 2pm appointment time, but there are too many unknowns. I could get other friends to help out during my friend's surgery, but I just wanted to find out from this forum:

Has anyone rescheduled their FP appointments in the Chicago (Naperville) area? Or for that matter in any other area?

By how many days was the appointment pushed back?

How long does the fingerprinting appointment take?

Would appreciate any feedback before I decide what to do.
 
When I received my FP appointment, it stated on the letter that if I missed the appointment the scheduled date, I could go back next week same day and same time as long as I appeared before 3 months later.

So basically, they were giving me like 11 opportunities to do the FP appt.

walk in anytime to the ASC (application service center)
they are federal contractors and will generally accept fingerprinting earlier than appointment as long as you dont make a big deal out of it!

just check their timings on the web before you go
