Effect of address change

I spoke to NSC this afternoon. They say address change has an impact on AOS. I wanted to desperately move to a difference county altogether. Is it advisable? Please share your expert comments.
 
Not Really..

I changed my residence in May 2002 (but within the same city) and got RFE for Medical only and that too for my wife in Oct 2002.
 
I moved in May too, also within the same city. Have not got any RFE. If I can get anything, I'd be thrilled, RFE, re-do FP notice, or whatever.

How can I know whether INS database has updated my address? Should I go to local office where I got i-EAD to check?
