Educational documents with I-485 needed?

My colleagues told me that they had submitted photocopies of their educational (degree/mark-sheets) certificates with I-485 to show EB-2 eligibility. I am surpirsed - I didn't. Never saw any RFE in this regard, too.

So I wonder: Are educational certificates really needed with I-485?

Thank you.

I never heard of this, asking educational certificates in I-485 stage. This should be with I-140, not I-485 I guess.

I kind'a agree with fikabir. Never heard of this. May be your colleague did this voluntarily but no where in the 485 application is a mention of educational details, as far as I can remember.

He did not need to send those documents - they would recall I-140 before approval so...

Hopefully he wont get a RFE for giving extra documentation.

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Thank you, all. It was a surpirse information for me too. May be their attorney was on "over-safe" side and decided to send every copy they had from I-140 stage! Documents list on http://www.immihelp.com/ enlists "degree certifcate" though. But it must be un-necessary because never anybody reported any RFE for degree certificate, etc. Now a days, every bit of extra information makes me nervous!!:D :D

Thank you and best wishes,

Jigesh
