One of DV 2009 winner asked me whether he is eligible for getting diversity visa because he has no high school degree. I am not sure if requirements changed for DV 2009.

He will finish high school next year or later , he stopped to study because he had to work. He has been working more than 2years as a software development specialist - senior software developer. As far as I remember if applicant education does not match the education criteria then he/she can apply for a visa on the basis of work experience in a condition if applicant worked in an occupation that is designated as Job Zone worked at least 2 years in past 5 years. I checked O*Net and found that his profession is eligible for DV processing. Any comments..?

Thanks ..

yes dragoman you are right in the point where u said..that even though you dont have highschool diploma you can apply through your workexperience. But applying through work experience is a very risky game..to play. There is a very rare chance for people to get visa through work experience but then again it all depends upon you, how you present yourself while in the interview. You have to make sure that the experience that you have falls under their job zone in the website and that you are very confident..while you explain about your job in the interview..as long as these stuffs are there, there shouldnt be any problem..good luck

Thanks Roben..
Any other comments or useful tips for interview..? Anybody here does know similiar cases..?
