ECFMG sponsorship for non-accredited year?

Does anyone know if ECFMG is sponsoring J1 for a four year program that is officially accredited for only three years? The fourth year is still a part of a total of seven years. Is there any way to get the fourth year to get board elegibility?
 
They may not do so. However, check with them.
Why do you want to do an unaccrediated year.
why not go for a fellowship, etc if needed ?
 
I am in a fellowship

I am already in a four year fellowship program. ECFMG is giving the institution trouble sponsoring the fourth year since the fellowship is accredited for three years only. That puts me in a tough spot since I need the fouth year to become board elligible. I was wondering if any other 4 year programs are getting 4th year sponsorships for J1s.
 
If you need the fourth yr to become board eligilble then you may have a case on getting is extended.talk to your program director and they may be able to make a case.
Other option is to switch to O-1 visa for your fourth yr.
May I ask what kind of fellowish program you are in ?
