EB3 to EB2 Portability

Hi ,
My I140 Approved year ago and My priority date is Apr,2004 filed under EB3 category.
Now our employer willing to port my labor from EB3 to EB2.

Does anyone has experience on this, I have over 10+ years of experience and I am on 7th year extension. Please share any experiences.

One of my friend did that ... his employer filed a second LC in EB2 (for a different position) and once both the I-140s are approved, he was eligible to use the old PD with EB2 category. His old LC was in EB3, currently waiting to file I-485.
