EB3 to EB2 during 485 stage

My FBI backgroung check has been cleared and my labor PD is Oct 2002. My 485 has been pending since Jan 2004 in NSC.

Will there be a benefit in converting to EB2 (re-apply my labor) and whether I can retain my earlier PD of OCt 2002?

You cannot convert at I485.I guess you need to file I140 again for EB2 and start all over from the I140. It is my knowledge though and you can validate with others
